Backup and restore

#ane Post past mikedd969 » 2009-09-03 15:26

What files should I support to preserve my Filezilla Server configuration? Also, if I am forced to re-install, exercise I just copy those files dorsum into the new installation or is there something else I demand to do??

Simply copy FileZilla Server.xml which is located in the directory FileZilla Server is installed in.

Sorry to drag this one up, just I am moving to a new server, and the former one has a version of Filezilla which is nigh 3 years former..

I tried copying the server.xml file over, simply got an error message maxim at that place was a server version mismatch..

The old server is version 0.ix.51.32 and the new one is 0.nine.54.0 - can you lot tell me what to do please?

Many cheers...

but got an error message maxim there was a server version mismatch..

The settings file should work fine, at that place'southward no version-specific stuff in there. Perhaps you got a protocol version mismatch? If yeah, you must run the installation again, looks like the server update failed (one of the two parts of FZ Server didn't update, causing the mismatch).

Both times your FZ Server assistants interface could not be updated. Normally the installer closes it, only that seems to exist failing (or the file is locked). Make sure the admin interface is closed and non locked/in utilise past other processes before running the installer again.

so I'm now logged on but I all the same get the error

Please read my previous post. Brand sure ALL instances of the FZ Server interface are closed and the FZ Server service is shut down. Then run the installer again - as Admin, of class. I part of FZ Server (the interface) didn't update previously.

Re: Fill-in and restore

I Finally sorted it by deleting Filezilla from my hard drive, then reinstalling it. I then opened the interface from inside the Filzilla folder, rather than from XAMPP, like I had previously.

I then found a second instance of Filezilla in a sub-folder of XAMPP, and that's what was causing the problem..

Cheers again..
